Muslim Moms Exercise!

Imam Muslim reported that Abu Hurayrah has narrated that the Prophet ﷺ has said: “A strong believer is better and dearer/more loved by Allah than a weak believer and both are good.”

I believe all Home makers must exercise to stay strong after all the hard and tenuous work. But, How and where do we begin?

Just squeeze out 30 mins for exercise everyday. Whenever it is possible for you, either morning or afternoon or evening. When you are fit, you can do more without getting exhausted.
Wait 30 mins after a light meal and at least an hour after a medium meal.

Counting calories and portion control.

“The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach. It is enough for the son of Adam to eat a few mouthfuls to keep him going, but if he must (fill his stomach), then one third for his food, one third for his drink and one third for air.” [hadeeth]

Follow this rule and snack on healthy, low calorie foods when hungry between meals.

Most moms are not in their prime shape. You need to build from beginning. Hence, you need to be careful what you eat. Count your calories and track your nutrition with my fitness pal and try to lose the extra weight you have.
Always make sure you get enough iron
,calcium, protein, vitamin A,C,E and B-complex even if you are dieting.

Drink:

* Green Tea 3 times a day
* Lemon juice first thing in morning
* Honey, lemon and warm water before sleeping.
*Always opt for low fat dairy.
* No soda even if it were the last thing on earth.

Eat:
*Stock up on seeds, fresh fruits and vegetables, dry fruits and nuts.
*Dinner 3 hours before bed.
*No processed or canned food.
* No sugar,excess oil and salt.
* Say yes to Vegetables, soups and salads.
*Eat sprouts, packed with nutrition and extremely low in calories.
* Apple, cucumber, watermelon, ginger, pineapple, celery are all fat burning foods.

Bonus:
Every 12 days, have an all-you-can-eat day. Satisfy your cravings and eat as you like.

Exercise:
Cardio.
Do cardio at least 3 times a week.

Walking, jogging, running, treadmill or anything that makes you sweat is cardio.

Warm up and cool down :
Warm up(walk/jog in place) before and stretch after exercise.
Youtube : Total body stretching by fitness blender.
Apps and videos mentioned above also have stretches. Never skip them as they are crucial to prevent injuries.

Strength training :

Upper body
Core
Lower body

Strength training burns more fat, builds muscles and makes you strong.Never work on same muscles on consecutive days.
Core strength is most important for home makers.

*It’s important to do exercises correctly to avoid pain. Howcast youtube explains most exercises in detail for beginners.

Islamic tips :
Make lots of dua. Pray to get barakah in your time for exercise and home made food, to help you with your cravings, to develop self control and to grant you motivation and knowledge about healthy eating.
